Do you need to cut out gluten?
Likely not.... unless you are Coeliac or have a gluten intolerance.
An estimated 360,000 Australians, (or one in 70) have coeliac disease, but four out of five of those people don't know they have it,
Gastroenterologist James Daveson is the lead researcher in a University of Queensland and Wesley Research Institute study that found 14 per cent of genetically-at-risk children had undiagnosed coeliac disease:
Some symptoms included:
Persistent fatigue or brain fog
Difficulty getting through school
Reduced academic achievement in school
Poor dentition (the arrangement and condition of teeth)
Iron deficiency as a teenager
Impaired growth or short stature
Something important to note, is that cutting out gluten prior to testing can actually create more issues. Gluten needs to be consumed for it to show up and trigger an immune response, that can be picked up via the testing.
If you already have cut out gluten, nothing can be picked up - so likely will not show up as coeliac on tests.
For people with gluten intolerance and coeliac disease there are some good pre-workouts to choose to fuel your sessions.
